For the last 34 years, the city of Lakewood has held Cider Days one weekend near the beginning of October. This year, we decided to check it out.

The boys made pasta necklaces and ate free apple samples.

With Janessa's help they attempted to milk a "cow."

Behind us is what remains of the apples after they go through the cider machine. Some people took the remnants home to make pie or cookies.

Here we are in front of the cider tent. The machine behind us is what we used to make cider from the apples.

OK, so we got our apples, what now?

Camden is dropping the apple in and Janessa is turning the handle to chop it up.

Robert is chooping them now and the pieces fall into the wooden basket underneath.

Then I turned the press to SQUEEZE all the juice from the apples!

And Brody caught it in the pitcher. That's how you make apple cider. It was SO GOOD!
