| At Gore Canyon before the drop-in.
Gore Canyon is the post-season run for advanced intermediates and experts
in Colorado. We took this trip to celebrate our 11th Anniversary. |
| Welcome to Gore Canyon sign! |
| Gore has several Class V's. The following
pics are of two strong Class V's - Gore and Tunnel. Here we are approaching
Gore. |
| This is the signature drop of the run. Sort of long with technical
moves and one mean hole. |
| Here we go! |
| I'm in the front right, Polliann's in the back left. |
| This was some seriously fun stuff! |
| Check out that wall of water behind
us. |
| We made it! |
| We pulled over to help the next
raft through. My job here was to pull someone in with my paddle, if necessary. |
| Hangin' out on my rocks watching
some rafts go through. We did a lot of scouting too. That turned out to
be some fun scrambling! |
| A river wide 12' ledge with a very pushy Class IV lead-in,
this is the Class V Tunnell Falls. The hole gets meaner at low water (less
than 900cfs), which is when we ran it. |
| This was an adrenaline junkie's dream, so we were on a natural
high! |
| The nose went up just before we
launched! |
| Yeehaw! |
| You can see that the enitre left side
of the raft is pulling away from the rock. I'm staring straight down the
fall, and the girl behind me had her eyes shut! |
| The big drop |
| Almost submerged |
| Submerged |
| Coming out |
| Here we are |
| Everyone stayed in. The guide did hit
heads with the girl behind me. |
